New York Public Library

This library is one of the leading libraries in the United States. The main entrance of the building faces Fifth Avenue and holds the Gutenburg Bible along with the Philisophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica. The famous main reading room of the Research Library is 78 feet by 297 feet with 52 foot high ceilings. The walls are lined with thousands of reference books and the ceilings with grand chandeliers for lighting along with brass lamps on the dark wood tables. The library maintains 86 neighborhood branch libraries including areas such as the Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island.
