Made famous by movies such as Miracle on 34th St and Big, FAO Schwarz is a must see even if you don’t have children. Located at the corner of 5th Ave between 58th and 59th Sts, this toy store is a playground for nostalgia. The New York Party Shuttle would love to stop here, but we’re afraid you’d never leave.
Originally founded in Baltimore in 1863, FAO Schwarz moved to Manhattan in 1870 and quickly became a hit. Three floors of toys and games, the store is located in the General Motors Building at Trump International Plaza. From the basement game room (where they let you play) to the life-size jungle animals to the virtual reality simulator, FAO Schwarz has amusements to last for hours, even without buying. And don’t forget to stop by the Schweetz ice cream stand to recharge.
