Washington Square Park is a well known public park in New York. This major landmark is located in the Manhattan neighborhood of Greenwich Village. Washington Square’s popular attractions not only include the beautiful scenery but the Washington Square Arch and Central Fountain. The arch was built in 1888 in honor of our First President out of plaster and wood. In 1892 the arch was rebuilt, this time out of marble and to a height of 77 feet. Many locals tend to flock to the park to relax and enjoy the many musicians and street performers.
