Construction began in September of 1928 on the Chrysler Building. It is located on the East side of Manhattan, at the intersection of 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue. This art-deco skyscraper stands at 1047 feet and was once named the the worlds tallest building until the Empire State Building took over the title. The Spire/antenna, which sits atop the building is made of stainless steel and is alone 125 feet high . It is now the second tallest building in New York.
